Making the decision to implement changes to your health and fitness can be a monumental mark in the sand. While our declaration to succeed and achieve dreams often starts out with enthusiasm and applied effort, when challenges seem tougher than expected, the cracks in consistency can begin to appear.

Is this time to freak out and feel as if it’s all too much? No… This is the time where the greatest resilience is needed and the biggest gains can be attained!

Feelings of Failure = Good?

Feeling as if you’re failing isn’t a bad thing whatsoever. It’s actually an opportunity to really get into the root of the situation. Take it head on, be present with it entirely and you’ll find by doing so, working towards a resolution will result in a permanent shift and positive outcome.

Choosing to see failure as the turning point and necessity to growth can be a liberating and empowering viewpoint. So, holding firm with your ‘can do’ attitude no matter what can build the most amazing inner strength and knowledge.

Not all perceived let downs or shortcomings are failures… word! Changes are necessary and can be unfamiliar at first. The stickiness of the uncomfortable leads to better decisions on what you really DO want and what to focus on.

Failing isn’t a reason to quit either. It’s an opportunity to learn, open up a wider look at the goal and see what might need some adjusting.

Perseverance when you are struggling helps to raise the bar, achieve more and build the confidence to keep going! This is such a valuable part of growing and the reason that most super successful people have failed massively, before turning adversity into HUGE opportunity.

Often failing and falling hard, provides a platform for a bigger rebound and willingness to win. Failing hard can lead to bouncing back much, MUCH higher!

Cast your mind to some of the world’s greatest leaders and what they have endured before they reached a triumph. The most influential of icons have often stuck it out through the most confronting of times, doubt from others and seemingly impossible visions of a dreamer. Did this stop them? No, but perhaps they did change their approach many times to find the best fit for the desired outcome. Perfect!

Does this mean that failure is a prerequisite to reaching your goals? Not really, but it’s quite likely that you will hit plateaus, rock blocks and days when you feel like throwing in the towel. That is OKAY people and part of being human.

Discipline is created when quitting is close, so this is the time to get serious with your ‘whys’ and be solution oriented if something pops up to hinder your flow.

Don’t Quit Just Yet

One thing is for sure, quitting when things get tough will guarantee a failure in that area and a stopping force in overcoming that obstacle or challenge. Embracing failure allows for audacious dreaming, setting BIG goals and trusting that exercising your mental muscle as much as your physical ones, you can get there!

Success isn’t about being perfect, so embrace the ups and downs, change your approach if you need to with a different mindset and trust that resilience will deliver results.

“Comfort and perfection are the enemies of innovation and expansion.”

You’ve got this!
